This Privacy Policy applies to the information and data that Social Media Resilience Ltd collects when you use our website, programmes and services.
Social Media Resilience Ltd (Company No. 16490037) is the data controller for your personal information. This policy applies to visitors to our website, clients and organisations we work with, participants in our programmes and courses, and users of our digital resources and free downloads. We may update this Policy from time to time and will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on this page.
When you fill out a form, book a discovery call, download a resource or register for a programme, we collect the information you submit including your name, email address, job title, organisation name, and phone number.
When you visit our website, we automatically collect information from your device including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and referring URLs. We collect this data using cookies and similar tracking technologies.
Where your organisation has engaged us to deliver a programme, we collect anonymised pre and post assessment responses. Individual responses are never shared with your employer or HR team. Only aggregate, cohort-level data is included in impact reports.
We process your personal information under UK GDPR. We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and promote our services, contract performance to deliver programmes you have purchased, consent for marketing communications (which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation for safeguarding and other statutory duties.
We use the information we collect to respond to enquiries, deliver programmes, courses and resources, send assessment materials, provide impact reports (aggregate data only), send updates where you have consented, improve our services, and comply with safeguarding obligations. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your personal information.
Enquiry and contact data is retained for 2 years from last contact. Programme and assessment data is retained for 3 years from programme completion. Financial and billing records are kept for 7 years as required by law. Marketing consent records are kept until consent is withdrawn plus 1 year.
Under UK GDPR you have the right of access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restrict processing, right to data portability, right to object to processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@socialmediaresilience.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.
Our website is not directed at children under 13. Where our programmes are delivered in schools, personal data relating to students is processed under the school's data controller responsibility. SMR acts as a data processor in those contexts. Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we apply a children's higher protection standard to our practices.
We are based in the United Kingdom. Some third-party service providers may be based outside the UK. Where this is the case, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or the UK adequacy framework to protect your personal information.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. No internet transmission is 100% secure. If you have concerns about the security of your data, please contact us immediately.
